Grant Baynham and Friends : Charity Night Monday 4th December 2017 In the last few years we have had some fantastic charity evenings with Grant and his guests. So enjoyable were these evenings that tickets sold well even before the guests are announced. All proceeds go to Orpheus, a charity founded by Sir Richard Stilgoe. “Huge thanks to everybody at Stockport Folk Club, especially Grant (my fellow survivor of Esther), for your efforts last year and for doing it all again for us this year. You all know how much making music cheers people up, and that is what Orpheus did thousands of years ago, and what the Orpheus Centre is still doing now.” Richard Stilgoe
Tickets £10
Tickets ordered on-line can be paid for by PayPal or credit/debit cards. If you don’t have a PayPal account use the ‘Check Out’ button rather than the ‘Check Out with PayPal’ button. Once ordered, tickets will be available for collection on the night. You may wish to print out the online receipt as proof of purchase but this is not necessary to gain entry to the event.
“The work of the Orpheus Centre never fails to impress me and I am proud to be a supporter.”               Dame Judi Dench

There's been a change to previous years formats. People kept asking for more of Grant so this year we're going for more Grant... The man himself, possibly the cleverest guitar work you'll ever see, some amazing songs, Grant is a wordsmith. Each song takes a new meaning every time you hear it; twisted rhymes and double meanings in every line. Plus we're promised some new material - expect anything from the humorous to the poignant. Grant’s songs are turning up in singarounds and making their way into the dark side of ‘trad’ folk. Mostly famous for his humorous songs, ‘Michael on the Moor’ is becoming a favourite serious song for lots of us.
